Production Years - overview
Examples of when you may want to enable the production years feature:
* You divide your cattle into calving seasons (ie. separate Spring calving and Fall calving herds)
* You maintain historical palpation results and want to be able to view a cow's pregnancy status for each calving (ie. Palpated bred, Palpated open)
* You want to maintain production records for SPA Analysis
Using the production years feature in CattleMax is optional and should be enabled only if you keep historical pregnancy/palpation records (such as wanting to know that cow 123 was palpated open in 2006, palpated bred in 2007, palpated bred in 2008, etc) and/or work with SPA (Standardized Performance Analysis). In CattleMax CS, if you are only interested in maintaining historical pregnancy/palpation records, it is not necessary to enable production years because that history is now maintained even if you don't use production years.
The production years feature does not need to be enabled if you only keep track of current palpation results (or do not palpate/pregnancy test at all) or for keeping track of calving histories.
