Setup/Configure

(Steps 1-6 only need to be completed during the initial set-up for each computer)

1. Connect your EID reader to your computer and power outlet if necessary.
2. Open CattleMax CS.
3. Click the External Data tab. Click "EID Readers", then "Configure RFID Reader."
4. In Electronic ID Reader Configuration box, select your reader manufacturer and model.
5. Set your com port according to your reader manual specifications (usually com port 1)
6. Click "OK".

Using the EID Reader

(Steps 1-3 below must be completed each time the EID reader is connected)

1. Click the Bulls, Cows, or Calves icon.
2. Click the External Data tab, then choose Connect to RFID Reader.
3. In the EID Reader Interface box, set the default action to your preference and begin scanning tags.
