Moving a herd file to a network location


To move your herd file from its current location to a master drive/network, follow these steps:

1. Open CattleMax CS. Click the Office button in the top left corner of the screen and choose Open Herd File. Select the Sample file.
2. Close out of CattleMax.
3. Find the current CattleMax file. Double click the My Computer icon on the desktop or click the Start button and choose Computer. The default installation location of CattleMax and the herd file are c:\cattlesoft\cattlemax cs. Your herd file will probably be in the Data folder.
4. Right click on the file you want to use and choose "Cut".
5. Go to the location you want to move the CattleMax file to.
6. Right click in the area and choose "Paste".
7. Go back into CattleMax CS
8. Click the Office button, choose Open Herd File, and choose the location you just moved/pasted the file to.
