Improving CattleMax Performance on a Network
CattleMax is designed to run with minimal network requirements, however, several improvements can be made to increase CattleMax's performance.
1. Ensure the CattleMax software is installed on to the local machine (installed to C:\ drive)
2. If possible, store and share the CattleMax herd file on the computer of the primary user
3. Do not store and share the CattleMax herd file on laptops or other older/slower computers.
4. Wired networks are faster than wireless networks, so use a wired network if possible.
5. For wired networks, use 100Mbps (Fast Ethernet) or 1000Mbps (Gigabit Ethernet) for cards, hubs/switches, and cables
6. If wireless networking is required, use 802.11a (54Mbps) or 802.11g (54Mbps). Do not use 802.11b (11Mbps)
7. When a second or later user wants to access CattleMax, have other users exit to the main screen.
