"CAN" Prefix in Tags Scanned from Allflex EID Reader

If you are scanning Allflex EID tags into CattleMax, and a three letter prefix representing your country code appears rather than three numerical digits (such as “CAN” instead of “124”), you may need to adjust the settings in your Allflex configurator.

Follow these steps to correct the tag number:

1.       In the Allflex configurator, change the ID Code Format from “alpha” to “numeric”.

2.       Under LCD Display, change the display file from “alpha” to “numeric”.

3.       Click “Apply Settings”.

Your tag numbers should now be scanned into CattleMax in the proper 15-digit numerical format.

If problems continue, contact your reader manufacturer or distributor.

You should only have this problem if your EID reader was purchased outside of the United States or if your default settings have been changed.
