You can record a tag number for the new calf that is based on the dam's records.

For example, if you want to record that cow 123 had a calf but you do not actually tag the calf until later on (such as when the calf is weaned), you can enter a new calf record into CattleMax with the same tag number as the cow. This is needed so that CattleMax will add the calf to the cow's calving history, even though the calf itself does not have an actual tag.
