Customer Success Story: Vasquez and Sons Cattle
As a third generation manager of their central
California ranching enterprise, Isaac Vasquez of
Vasquez and Sons Cattle relies on the power of
CattleMax as a management tool.
"The CattleMax cattle management software works great on my cattle
operation," he says, "From keeping my finances in
one spot to my inventory, CattleMax is the best!"
With a family history in the cattle business for nearly 30 years,
Vasquez said they were only recently exposed to the
registered Charolais cattle they haved added to
their herd of Polled Hereford cattle. In the heart
of the Central Valley, Vasquez manages 25 cows of
each breed, and their calves.
Vasquez currently splits his time between raising his family’s cattle,
a summer job in real estate and participating in
extracurricular events at Chowchilla High School. In
school, he is actively involved in the FFA program,
keeping accurate record books on his projects, and
maintains a good grade point average. With the
growth of their Charolais herd, he plans to show in
the Junior Charolais Nationals next year.
Vasquez recently took over the cattle operation, and added the
registered Charolais cattle to their commercial
cow/calf herd to set the foundation for a
small-scale seedstock operation, which he plans to
eventually transfer into their main operation.
Vasquez said he has appreciated using CattleMax to
track his cattle inventory.
"The whole program is my favorite," he said, "I have been using
CattleMax for almost a year, and plan on using it as
long as I'm in the cattle business."
After spending years keeping cattle records on paper, Vasquez found
CattleMax online.
"It has helped me in keeping all my cattle records in one easy-to-find
spot. With the income and expense log, I have found
areas I was spending too much money in," he said.
Vasquez encourages other producers to improve their record keeping
with CattleMax.
"Don't waste another day without it," he said.
Vasquez and Sons expects their next Charolais calf crop in the coming
month, and currently has bulls for sale, ranging in
age from seven to 15 months. For a glimpse of the
tall, green pastures California has to offer, they
encourage ranch visits before the summer heat rolls
in.
