Working with cattle scales
You know that performance records are key to your management decisions and marketing abilities. That is why CattleMax includes cattle scale interfaces in all editions at no additional charge. From connecting to a scale real-time to downloading the weights into your records, CattleMax helps ensure a smooth transfer between the equipment and your records.
Capturing weights real-time at the chute to reduce errors
All CattleMax-compatible cattle scale indicators can be connected to a computer that is chute side. As each animal is weighed, CattleMax captures the weight real-time and adds it to the animal record you have selected. Add weights of all types - birth, weaning, yearling, gains, and sales to easily compare how cattle are weighing compared to each other and as a group.
Downloading captured weights provides even more options
Several cattle scale indicator models have a memory capability that allows for storing of cattle and weights without the need for a computer in the field. After weighing cattle, the indicator can be connected to the computer and the weights can be downloaded into CattleMax. This option works well for producers who are not able to have a computer chute side or at the time cattle are being weighed.

CattleMax-compatible cattle scale manufacturers
The most popular cattle scales used by CattleMax customers are Tru-Test, Gallagher and Digi-Star.
CattleMax has a real-time interface with: Tru-Test, Gallagher, Digi-Star, Avery Weigh-Tronix, LBS Scales, and WW Paul Scales. If you have a weigh scale not listed here, you are welcome to try the existing companies' settings in CattleMax, as many times some equipment vendors use the same settings.
In addition, CattleMax can download weights from spreadsheet files generated by Tru-Test, Gallagher and Digi-Star scales. CattleMax only downloads the weights from these files. If you have a spreadsheet file of weights you've made on your own or with a different scale, you can use the spreadsheet import process in CattleMax to download the weights.
